Iron Island - Oil Rig Transformation

The project presents an innovative concept of reusing abandoned coastal oil platforms as multifunctional spaces focused on sustainability and biodiversity. The project stems from the need to respond to current environmental challenges and demands for decarbonization. It draws inspiration from the "Iron Island" competition, which posed a challenge to reconsider the future of these structures in the context of environmental sustainability. The work aimed to design a concept that combines energy autonomy, biodiversity protection, multi-purpose use, and experiences for visitors, thus contributing to a sustainable blue economy. The project focuses on replicability, which opens up possibilities for future use of similar structures in various locations.

The philosophy of the design emphasizes regional identity, sustainability, and innovation. As part of the thesis, the brand and visual identity of the project are also examined, which combines modern design principles with the adaptation of industrial structures and respect for nature. The emotional and aesthetic experience of the project evokes feelings of nostalgia, admiration, and comfort
